Procrastinating...Today
01

So I am slowly writing my paper, but becoming easily distracted by other things. I am really glad I did though. I did a google search of my last name and came across a picture of my dad that I have never seen before. It is located on http://www.rhs64.com/memoriam.htm
here is the picture:

DO NOT POST
01
I've got these lines in my head
need to spill them out
I have a need to go to bed
but I cant seem to rest a bit
I have this hole in my heart
and know exactly what it is about
My sunshine is fading
and leaving my sky grey
The night is coming
I can't wait another day.

Colors are like moods, everyone has their favorite. There is something though, that not everyone knows about colors. The colors you see every day actually affect you on an emotional level. Some colors can even cause physical reactions, according to a study done by Audrey Pahmerin 2003. The reaction that she studied was how certain colors can increase and decrease blood pressure. Throughout this paper, I will explore each color individually. For each color I will look at the emotional and physical effects as well as healing properties and cultural associations. To begin I am going to tell you about my personal experiences with color that have led me to wanting to research it further. After that I will give you a brief overview on what color is.
Color has always been a huge part of who I am. Every day I have chosen what to wear by the mood I am feeling. If I am tired I tend to wear a darker color, where as if I am really excited I choose a brighter color instead. I originally started doing research on color and emotions 4 years ago. I have spent a lot of time reading articles and looking at books. I have also now done a survey as well as a personal interview. I conducted my survey on what emotions people associate with specific colors. I surveyed one hundred and fifteen people. Throughout this paper you will learn the results of this survey.
Most people see color and never wonder why they see it. Others though, have researched color and light and in return have been able to tell us what happens when we see light bouncing off objects. According to Graham Travis, The author of Color Healing, A Practical Guide: Color is energy with a defined wavelength and frequency. The reason we see color is because all objects absorb some wavelengths of color and reflect the rest. The reflection of these wavelengths of light is what we perceive as color.
Red is the color with the longest wavelength, therefore from what I have read and seen it is the color that people react the most strongly to. Feeling like love, passion, anger were the dominant responses in my survey that I conducted. 37% responded anger, 17% responded love, and 10% responded passion. Other responses were mad, power, pissed, frustrated, excited and romantic. 22% responded with answers that made up less than 1% of the total.
Continuing down the rainbow we get to orange. Orange is an energizing color, but doesnt not provoke as strong of emotions as red does.
Yellow is a color that everyone recognizes as being a happy color. % of individuals surveyed responded with happy as the emotion that they associated with yellow.
Green is a serene color. Some of the most popular responses were calm, soothing and relaxed. Emotions such as jealousy and envy were also common answers.
Blue is a color associated with being calm. In studies by(insert name/study here) being placed in a blue room actually decreases your blood pressure and heartrate.
Purple was an interesting color for responses. Everyone seems to have their own very unique impression for what purple represents for them.

Self Portrait Artist Statement
01
Self Portraiture is something I have specialized in for many years. With my love of photography in recent years though, I have branched out to many different avenues of photography. Portraits of other people is one of the things that has drawn my attention. Because of this, I have been working in portrait studios for nearly two and a half years. Another type of photography that I actively participate in is nature photography. I love doing anything from landscapes and sunsets, all the way to macro photography. I love taking pictures because it is wonderful to be able to share with others how I see the world. To see some of my photography, other than my self portraits, please visit DWELL-SPACE.blogspot.com

I carry a camera with me at all times. Usually it is my Nikon D200, though some days it is more practical to carry a smaller camera instead. I, for the most part and a very spontaneous photographer. I don't go out on a daily basis with the intention to take pictures, I just have my camera because I have learned through experience that it is a good thing to carry at all times. There are a variety of things that I as a photographer enjoy having as my subject matter. I enjoy portraiture, landscape, as well as macro. Portraits of people are something that I do on a daily basis. Where as everything else tends to happen as the opportunities arise. -MZ

Lucky 42 - The Meaning of Life
01
So my horoscope is right on the money today. I haven't had one that embodied exactly how I was feeling for a long, long time. Last night I talked a lot... well, after midnight I talked a lot. Hannah and I talked for over an hour and a half. Then Matt and I talked for 10 minutes, which is a bit considering I hadn't talked to him on the phone in over a week. There are a lot of things that have been going through my head that I want to talk to him about, just not over the phone. Horoscopes are interesting.
Here is your Today's Gemini Horoscope
Open up to someone close and keep talking until you get to the very bottom of your soul -- or close enough, anyway! Your ability to communicate emotions is peaking right now, so make the most of it.
Compatibility:Virgo
Mood:Talkative
Lucky Color:Yellow
Lucky Number:42
Lucky Time of Day:4am
A List.

The things you are still supposed to do:
Rub my head when I have a headache
spend time with me
go on walks at night
watch movies
remind me that my world isn't falling apart
Call me
Hug me hello
Hug me goodbye

Dreams and Memories.
01
I spent the last 9 hours in dreams and memories. Places that I have been hundreds of times, as well as places I have never been. I haven't had dreams like that in a long time. I allowed myself to think about the past as I fell asleep. I revived memories that I hadn't let flow through my mind in a long long time. To a certain extent I feel like I didn't sleep. Though in an odd way I feel more rested than I usually do. I had dreams of being with people I have never even thought about begin with in ways like that. Strange things happened in my dreams last night. And now I will leave it at that.

Taxes
01
Taxes are really frustrating me. I need to get them done do I can do my Fafsa, so I can prepare for next quarter at school. I have entered all the information and since I am being claimed as a Dependant on my mom's return, I am going to have to pay in over $400. If I was claiming myself, as long as I put all of the information in the correct places, I would be getting nearly $2000 back. This sucks, I really need my mom to do her taxes before I can do mine.
Another Non Productive Night... Mostly
01

Tonight was odd. Hanging out with Matt, though it wasn't really hanging out with Matt. It was being in a room with him. Along with Kale and Addie. Not that I completely mind, but with how I have been feeling, I would have rather not had it be as many people. We ended up going to a volleyball game, which seemed really long, and the fluorescents in the gym made my head pound a bit extra. The lights were not as bad as the ones in my lighting class at school though.

I left the Theta Chi house around 1, and then drove to the park we used to walk to and took pictures in the fog, mostly from my car window... but the composition was pretty good from there. If I wouldn't have been alone, I would have walked around and taken pictures until my memory cards were all full.
Here are some of the pictures I took . I really like them.

Apology
01
There are bonds that have been broke, that at times I think would have been better left intact. Sometimes a severed bond can not be repaired, no matter how much you want it to be. Even in repair, it will never again be what it once was. I still believe that everything happens for a reason, it still hurts, especially when the reason has yet to be revealed. It hurts when someone that you once cared so much for, barely keeps in contact. When the person who was your best friend for so long, seems to have disappeared. It hurts the most to lose the person, who helped you to find yourself.
This is an apology now, for the things that I have done, and of course the things that I regret doing. Yes that is right, regret... I know I said I didn't regret anything, but I do. and it hurts. It was not worth it. It was not worth loosing my best friend. I am sorry.

Long Day... Again.
01
Today has seemed like an extremely long day, even though I did not do anything productive.I went to the chiropractor yesterday, which hasn't begun to help yet. It has just made me sleepy, though maybe sleep is what my body needs. I went to bed early last night, and then slept in until 10. By 11:30 I was already finding it hard to stay awake so I returned to my bed. I slept until 1. Tyler ended up coming over around 4 since I had decided not to make the journey to MPLS tonight for class. Well, my first class was just going to be work time tonight and I haven't been able to get any work done, so staying home sounded more productive. By 5 I was tired again, so Tyler and I laid down to take a nap and ended up sleeping until almost 7:30. Once we convinced ourselves to get up, we sat and watched Legend Of The Seeker on Netflix. Not productive, but at least it was enjoyable. I really wish that this headache would go away.

Update on Excedrin
01
So, about 22 hours after taking the first dose, my headache was returning. It said not to take more than 2 in 24 hours, but I figured that 22 was close enough. I wanted to kick the headache before it returned full force. Now 2 hours after taking it, my head is spinning, and my stomach is churning a bit. I also had Chai with a shot of raspberry in it from Starbucks, so i tmay be from that. Whatever it is though, i feel worse now than before i took it.
Medicine sucks.
It gives you these false promises of feeling better, but then there are always the side effects and the consequences of taking it "too soon" All I want to do is have normal headaches that go away with one 'normal medicine' like 2 200mg ibuprofen, or even 2 500mg acetaminophen. I am not even asking for the headaches to go away, all I want is for medicine to work without causing other problems like my stomach aches. Is that too much to ask?
Headache in Submission
01
I feel like I did not accomplish anything this weekend. Sure I went places, and did a couple things, but I don't feel like I did anything that I needed to do. My head has still been pounding.
Thursday: I drove to school. Went to school early to print my picture for my computer apps class. I got there at 7:30. I stayed through my computer apps class. I then went to my Speech class and ended up just taking the quiz and going home. Driving has been a bit scary with the way my head has been hurting
MADI-HEAD-ACHE= Pain near the top of the head that extends towards temple, neck and jaw. Causes inability to focus mentally and can at times physically effect vision. This headache is not easily remedied; Acetaminophen doesn't seem to do anything, Ibuprofen needs at least 800mg to make a difference, Vicodin helps, in conjunction with Ibuprofen but is not easily accessible, Aleve Liquid Gels Are too strong and don't help enough to make them worth upsetting my stomach. Excedrin Migraine I purchased yesterday... and surprisingly it helped quite a bit.
After a weekend of things:
Work
Utilizing Netflix
Tattoo Shop Opening-Rose of No Man's Land
Laurence's 2nd Birthday Party
Hanging out with Hannah
Work
Finally though, I was able to subside my headache enough to do what I had been looking forward to for at least 4 months.... We (Tyler and I) Went and saw Alice In Wonderland! It was fantastic! No one would have done it better than Tim Burton. He is amazing, the way that everything was put together was absolutely beautiful! There were a couple points where the 3D threatened to pull my headache back from submission, but It didn't come. Got home too late, because we saw it at 10:30 instead of 7:45 like we had planned. The earlier show was sold out by the time that we got to the theater.
That is enough now, time to ready myself for 4 hours of work.

Long Day.
01
Yesterday was a long day.
Woke up to fur balls on the middle of my white rug. Thank you Tigger Rose.
Then I drove to my sisters house in Eden Prairie an took newborn pictures of Hazel. They turned out beautifully. I will post some later. I was there from 10-1 and took around 150 pictures. She is very photogenic so she is the perfect little photo subject.
After my sisters house, I stopped at the house my mom nannys at. I met Molly, the mom of Hazel and Audon. They are the 8 month old twins that my mom watches. Molly is super nice, I am glad that I finally got to meet her.
After visiting my mom, I had class.
For my lighting class, we went on a field trip. We went to the MPLS photo center. it was really cool. They have a studio, a dark room, a print lab, even a kitchen. It was a very positive space. I liked being there. They offer a membership for students that is only $15 per month. Eventually that may be something that I look into.

That was cool
Lots of Updates
01
So, since the last time I posted, a lot has happened. And there are a few things that happened before that I hadent posted on yet.
I will start with this. Matt cut his dreads off on January 22nd. It broke my heart a little that he brokr his promise that I could be there when he cut them off, but as far as I can think of it is the firts promise he has ever broken. I saw him the day he cut them off, it was an emotional day for me. He almost didn't seem like Matt without them, which in a way made it easier to be around him... but I don't want to go into that right now. He has since then had a pink, and then a blue stripe running from his forhead to his nape... it is interesting. The blue was more him.
On February 19th, Hazel Rae Beaumont was born. My newest neice. She is absolutly gorgeous. She has a full head of dark hair, and the longest fingers I have ever seen on a baby. She has a very elegant beauty. I will be doing newborn pictures of her tomorrow, and I will post a couple once Nancy and Curtis see them.
Also on February 19th, I had an addition to my little family. Tyler and I addopted a kitten. His name is Batter. He is a little orange kitten with tabby markings. He is very full of energy which has led to some interesting nights since I am not the owner of a door on my bedroom. He has ended up in his travel cage a couple times so that I could get a bit sounder sleep.
Tyler got his drivers license on Thursday. I am really proud of him for passing the first time he took it, I had a feeling that he would. It is nice, he can drive to my house and see me now :)
Well I suppose I should get out of bed and start my day.
